Multiple selection validation -Java???

Hi,

As part of my form validation, I want to ensure that something has in fact, been selected from a multiple selection element.

I could do server-side validation, but want to know if anyone has found a way to return the selection status client-side.

is it a <select> tag or are the elements checkboxes or radio buttons ?

Yes it is a multi-line combo box. With it being an array, I want to be able to determine the fact that something has been selected, using javascript.
