cutting special characters

Hi guys,

Did anybody face following problem:
when form's text field contains characters like tm (trade mark) and so on, PHP cuts it and send cutted variable to script. I though that htmlspecialchars helps me but I was wrong. The $GLOBALS[HTTP...VARS][myvar] was cut already. That is PHP cuts variable before it appears in script.

Please, if anybody met this feature,

may be you have something setup in php.ini which does that?
