CURL DOESN'T WORK

Hi, I have a hosting company and they installed CURL and recompiled PHP. Previously a call to curl_init() got a "fatal error: call to unknown function" message, and that stopped once they installed it.

However, the credit card tech support tells me that they have no record of connection from my IP, and there appears to be nothing happening, although there is no error message either.

Any Idea what might be wrong? And how to isolate the problem/find the next step? Thank you in advance for your help!

Well,the first thing to try wouldbe touse cURL to connect to some random page and have it display the result; See if that works.
