Can't get the x and y coordinates

I can't get the value of the x and y coordinates.

I have:
<input type="image" src="1.jpg" name="ap">

I tried:
$POST["ap.x"]
$POST["ap.y"]

But nothing is displayed.

I see from the manual that that is not how PHP refers to the coordinates.

I think it's just
$_POST['x'] and $POST['y']
