Hi!

Maybe it's a stupid question, but anyway... I'm not that expert at all...

Can someone tell me, how to make track of people logged on my web site?
Actually I need how to track their logoff, so count (how many people are online) is allways correct.
I work with sessions and there's no problem when user is logging off tag it as "offline". But, if user doesnt' click "logoff" button?

I've confronted the same issue, and I don't believe there is any way to know when a user has left your site, unless they tell you via your "Log Off" button script.

Beyond a simple hit counter, why do you need to know how many people are actually visiting your site at any given moment? If you have no real answer for that, you may be spinning your wheels over nothing.

One way is make the page refresh every minute and as it does log the user into a database with the time. If the users time is more than one minute ago then he is offline. Its a pain to implement but i think its the simplest way

Well, here's the thing.

I'm working on administration area for some project and I was thinking to add a field in database when user logs on and off (actually two fields ;o), so I could see how long user (admin actually) was in administration area.
Then I figured it ... there's hard way to implement that if user doesn't click logoff button and I asked here...
