cannot upload file

Hi I have problems in using the upload file eg in the manual.
At my home it goes.At work it doesn't.
The img_name is empty...
What have I missed?
I tried many sol, as fopen() etc...nothing works.

PS:i'm connected to the server with a ssh.

what kind of server are you using ?

windows you need to have the upload directory like so:

$file_dir = "c:\public sites\sun-webdesign.com\timages";

Unix(like) needs to be like so:

$file_dir = "/usr/local/home/vhosts/sun-webdesign.com/httpdocs/timages";

Hi, thanks for prompt replay.
The dir is correct. At first I thought it was the pb.
The server is Unix.
I've asked the admin to set up the /tmp dir for uploading.
There I can use fopen(), fread(), but
copy($img1, "/tmp/". $img1_name); doesn't work. $img_name is empty.
I tried also with HTTP_POST_FILES["$img1"]["name"]; And...nothing.
What I like to do is to allow the people in my lab to insert not only their cv but also their head-shoulder photo into the lab' web page.
Have you got any idea?
What have I missed?
