what is this expression looking for?

I got this expression that I can't seem to decipher to well. Some of the characters, I haven't encountered before, so I'm not sure what the expression is looking for. Can anyone tell me? Thanks.

And how in the world do you type "ñ"?

I'm not positive, but I don't think that would even work, and would yield a parsing error more than likely.

You seem to have typed it quite well already.

Besides, the main reason you're having trouble is that that's not PHP, it's VBScript.

No, I got this somewhere else in a vb app and I'm just trying to figure out what it's looking for. I didn't know that vbscripts regular expression syntax was different from any other.

I don't think that it is any different from any others.

Here's my best guess.

([A-Z]+[a-zA-Zñ.\" & Chr$(34) & "])[ ]

[A-Z]
It's looking for any letter between A and Z,

and

[a-zA-Zñ.\" & Chr$(34) & "]

a through z, A-Z (seems redundant) and ñ, and a period, and ASCII charachter number 34 (whatever that is), though that last part, I can't verify. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks. Most of that I got, but I too was mystified as to why they would search for a chr(34) (which is vb for a double quote). And I didn't know why they were searching for ñ either. Thanks again.
