How to I take a query from sql and display the results in a horizontal row until it gets to the end of the page then have it go down to the next line then to the end of the page and so on?

I'm getting errors like this through out all of my PHP scripts can someone tell me what is causing it and also how to fix the problem?

Your mysql query is not valid, of course.

There is no way for you to know how many columns fit on the user's screen, so you can't do that what you want...

what if i want to put the data in a table and allow horizontally only 4 columns is there a way to list like for example i do a query that returns all the first names that match a certain criteria. I want the results displayed in a table that is 4 columns horizontally and when it gets to the 4th column I want it to start a new row also only 4 columns and so on
