Signifying recent additions to database

I have something I'm working on where I would like to be able to signify recent additions with a little graphic that says news. The table has a datetime field, so I can tell what is most recent. But I'm not even sure what or how I would go about doing this. Essentially, I want to be able to say if something was added in the past 3 days, it should have this little graphic next to it. Can someone give me a tip on where to start with this?

Since you have a datetime field, you can just select that along with the rest of the record, then compare it against the current date. If the difference between them is less than three days, it's new.
