really need help

if i type the folowing into the address bar it works ...

http://user:[e-mail]

ie it lets me straight in but if i use it as the address in the location header it asks me for the username and password again

eg

header("Location: http://user:[e-mail]");

any ideas why this is ?
any one used this type of thing ?
any ideas of any other forums i could ask this question in ?
(ive tried 1phpstreet and codeguru)
any thing at all ?

I think the reason it does not work when you set in useing the header is because it is a browser hack to accept "user:pass@page", not part of the HTTP spec.
I think you will need to use CURL to do what you want.

How would i go about using CURL ?
