Can anybody help me? When I use str_replace("<!data/>","",".$LONGSTRING. <a
href=\"<!data/>\"> .$LONGSTRING.") I get back the string ".$LONGSTRING. <a
href=>\"> .$LONGSTRING." instead of what I wanted: ".$LONGSTRING. <a href=\"\">
.$LONGSTRING.".
$LONGSTRING is some large text from a file. Actually the whole string is from a file or a db. Just wrote it here that way to focus on the point.
Seems to be an encoding problem (see comments in the online user manual for str_replace()). Can this be solved by quoted-printable encoding (according to the comment it can. but the author of the e-mail cannot be contacted)? And if so, how do you do the encoding in PHP (there is no
quoted_printable_encode()-function and I do not have imap_8bit()-function available)?
I hope you can help me as I am really stuck. You would save my day!
Thanks a lot !!
