Stop that script!

Ok, so this is slightly embarassing - I'm sure the answer is exceedingly simple and is probably known by everyone, except me! Spot the PHP newbie...

All I want to do is stop a script so that I can debug my code. ie do the equivalent of ASP's response.end

It's not end, terminate, halt... Can someone help me out?
