form and PHP

Hello,

I have a form with a textarea. When it is filled with text and carriage returns and the information is passed on to a PHP document through a form the carriage returns are lost. How can I keep them?

they are not lost. perhaps you are displaying the text back on the browser. if thats the case, then carriage returns and new lines are not interpreted as <br>'s as in HTML.

so you have to do:

echo nl2br($text);

this will change all the new lines to <br>'s

The problem is that I am using the text to be sent directly in the body of an email. It seems that itcannot display the new line in the email
