Hello "the bull"!
I myself have used the forum extensively in the past for both answering and questioning. After a long time of not being here, it's good to be back and help out (or at least TRY to help :-).
Anyway, this forum is excellent, but I would wish the owners (tim?) would upgrade the forum software. phpBB version 2.0.1 is VERY robust and works well for me on my site and my clients' sites, as well as other forums i've seen on the web.
I know it's always good to keep it simple, but I like the layout, organization, text formatting (and other stuff like avatars, etc) of phpBB and I think it will be really beneficial.
Oh: we can also format code (for once!) with another forum like phpBB so people an actually compose their code as they want it to appear.
Anyway, in short, this is what this forum needs (in my opinion):
- better organization: i like having all replies to a topic on a single page
- CODE and TEXT FORMATTING!!! Sometimes when people paste code from their editor or another site, it looks soooo messy that i don't feel like reading it or even looking at the post altogether
- avatars, ranks (based on # of posts), etc :-) (just for fun!)
I'ld really like to hear other opinions about this forum and whether upgrading it would be beneficial. And if time is an issue, I'ld be happy to devote some of my time to help upgrade, etc.
