Password Authentication and opening html

Hi, I'm trying to create a database login where after the user enters his/her username/pw it would open a page coresponding to the correct username/pw combo. I have a users table created in my database containing fields for username password and html file (to open). My problem is I don't really know the code for how to do this..any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

ok.... method not code here...

1. username & pass gets passed to script...
2. script checks username & pass validity..
3. if successfull db retrieves .html location

then... either

1. meta-refresh to the html page...
   or
2. include .html into page...

I could write you the script, but be good for you to learn for yourself..

how would you refresh a window already open base on the correct password and userid. I run into another problem:

Cannot add header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/kemteck/public_html/home/checkaccess.php:6) in /home/kemteck/public_html/home/checkaccess.php on line 42

I combed the forum for answer and there are number of other people post the answer to my problem above. I have tried all but does not help. I must not doing something correct yet.
