Pop3 creation - is it possible?

Hi,

Is it possible for PHP to create a pop3 account on a server?.. If so, can anyone please point me in the right direction for this?

I'm trying to write a hotmail type webmail server where the user signs up, then "hopefully" a PHP script will create the popbox.

Well, you need a POP3 server...If your question is how to write a POP3 server, it's usually done in a compiled language like C or C++.
