I have a form on my web site that visitors fill out and submit. My php program writes the info to a simple flat file. I would like to also log the person IP address. Can anyone tell me how to do this? If it matters, my web site runs on a server with Apachie OS.

Ya all you do is use the variable $REMOTE_ADDR hope that helps
You should use $_SERVER["REMOTE_ADDR"]... more secure than $REMOTE_ADDR because if you should $REMOTE_ADDR, the user can change its value...
mypage.php3?REMOTE_ADDR=gotohell
