drop down list population problems

I have a drop down list populated with the names of various files read from a directory, you can then select a file from the list and press the delete button and this deletes (unlink()'s) the file from that directory.

My problem is that if you then select the drop down list again the file name is still there (although the physical file has been deleted!), and obviously selecting it again and trying to delete it again, brings up errors due to the fact that it no longer exists.

any ideas as to how i can get around this?

I think this is a cache problem. You can use this to avoid broswer to cache your page...
header("Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate"); // HTTP/1.1
header("Cache-Control: post-check=0, pre-check=0", false);
header("Pragma: no-cache");

Remember to put this before anything is "outputted"...

I forgot... you can use file_exists() to check if file exists...

i used file_exists() the name is still there but if you try to delete it again it disappears.... not 100% exactly as i wanted it but close enough!!
