php editor/software?

i think for php programming, use some html editor such as dreamweaver etc. to do the html coding/formatting and then go to the source code (either open the source code in dreamweaver etc. or use the text editor) embed the php codes around the html tags will be good and simple enough.

are some php editor/software there really helpful? what real advantages we can get from the php editor on the market? i hated some asp auto created codes software. it is making easy and simple things complicated and difficult. it is almost impossible to edit the auto created codes.

i prefer to write the asp codes myself. based on this experience, i never tried any php editor.

any opinions?

i use homesite 4.5.2, there is a more recent version but it is from macromedia (so its the same thing as dreamweaver). 4.5.2 as far as i know is the most recent version from allaire.

Try Macromedia Dreamweaver MX. I have used it, and it´s a pretty tool.
