Hi,

Been having many problems with the mail() function. I know it isn't my coding but if I add a header with the From line, the text is changed. Like this:

Wrom: BOHMKHJYFMYXOEAIJJPHSCRTNHGS

(if that didn't change, it usually goes to:

Wrom: DXED7EAFDGH47

or something similar).

Has anyone encountered this? Do a search for Wrom: on Google and many sites are affected by this.

Any ideas? Please? HEEEEELLLLLLP!!

i run into same kind problems once a while. not exactly the one you have.

but for all the values you pass to the mail() function.
trim() these values first may help. even when i read codes thoroughly that logically, trim() will return the same value, but trim() it anyway does help me once a while when my mail() works funny and i cannot find any reasons why?

More convinced than ever that this IS a virus.

Have posted EXACTLY the same message to another forum (running PHP) and the message appeared UNCORRUPTED!!!!!

Has this server got the same problem too?

Solved this one.

If one has a copy of Norton Internet Security installed and the Privacy Control enables Browser Privacy, all headers with From: information are blocked unless they're done over a secure connection.

So, to remedy the problem UNCHECK the Enable Browser Privacy option.......

Sorry to raise the alarm - better to be safe than sorry...

Now, to flame f@!*ing Symantec.
