help with php 4.2.1

After upgrading to PHP 4.2.1 I get this message passing an variable from one page to another
Notice: Undefined index: skfpass in c:\inetpub\wwwroot\work\secret.php on line 2

How do I define that index.

I have a session running, passing a user and a password to that page.

The script worked fine until the upgrade.

And how come it seems to be necessary, to define every variable over and over again from page to page.
I don't quite get it.
Do others have problems with this new version, and does anyone have som experience they care to share with me/others.

In PHP4.2.1, some things have changed in the php.ini.
One of these is the error reporting level, which you'll have to set to "error_reporting = E_ALL & ~E_NOTICE"
Another one is the register_globals setting which is "Off" by default now and used to be "On". That is why you do no longer have skfpass.

Hmm... forgot to mention this: setting register_globals to "On" lets you run a security risk (check http://www.php.net for details)
