RegExp for Spaces

I need to cleanup a text file by removeing any consecutive spaces from the text file. There should only be one space between each word. Can anyone help me.

Dunno if this is the only way but it worked. It looks for just one space, then it looks for 1 or more spaces following. It finally replaces the match with the first space. Hoep this helps.

$strng = preg_replace ( "/(\s{1})(\s+)/", "\1", $strng);

$strng = preg_replace ( "/\s+/", " ", $strng);

little easier to write ;-)

preg_replace("/ */i"," ",$ld);
