Number of months between 2 dates?

Can anyone give some ideas or examples on how to calculate the number of months between 2 different dates?

I suggest you download the Date_Calc class from www.phpinsider.com - it has exactly what you're looking for.

other than the previous idea u can do something that i used for the same problem, provided the start and end dates( day part ) are the same.

mondiff = ( end_year - start_year)*12 +(end_month+start_month)

so if you want to know number of months b/w 02/02/2002 and 02/05/2003

diff = (2003-2002)*12 + ( 5 - 2)
= 12 + 3
= 15 months
