retaining paragraphs from forms

Hi,

I wish to make a news section for my site where I can enter content into a mysql database.

It will be a longtext field.

The content will be submitted from a scrolling text box.

What I want to know is how to retain the formatting I.e. paragraphs that are input from the form rather than it being entered as one long paragraph.

When you want to output the paragraph, pass it through nl2br() first. nl2br() will convert new lines (which is what comes from the form) to <br /> tags.
