URL length compability & cache problem

I have a set of rather long URLs (some are 256+bytes) I need to redirect users to, anyone know of any known problems with long URLs & old browsers? (like msie4.x, netscape3.0, etc).

I've already logged what appears to be errors with browsers of that kind..

You can read this, for the current spec:

However, maybe you can rewrite so you're using post and not get.
