I've recently been playing around with sessions for a administration section on a site. During my testing I've found sessions work somewhat differently depending on the browser.
As far as I'm aware when possible sessions uses a cookie on the clients computer to store its id in. When cookies is turned off in Netscape 6.2.3 the PHPSESSID is stored in the url whereas when cookies are allowed its not stored in the url. Whereas IE 6 and Opera 6.01 store the PHPSESSID in the URL no matter what settings are used. I was wondering if theres anyway to force netscape to store the session id within the url when cookies are turned on because without it the url looks incomplete ( ie. page.php?something=a& and after is where the PHPSESSID is supposed to be )
I was also wondering if theres anyways of getting rid of those session files left in the tmp directory when sessions aren't destroyed automatically through php as after awhile that directory could get messy with all those stale sessions.
