Including variables in e-mail message...

Hi,

I'm writing a links directory program for my website, and am having some difficulties using the mail function. This is what I have:

/ recipients /
$to = "[e-mail]";

/ subject /
$subject = "New link added";

/ message /
$message = 'Your account details are as follows:

Title: $title
URL: $url
Description: $desc
Category: $category
';
/ additional headers /
$headers .= "From: Bob Smith <[e-mail]>\r\n";

/ and now mail it /
mail($to, $subject, $message, $headers);

It sends the mail fine, except I want the variables to be from the form the user has just submitted, with those same variable names. The e-mail just prints out $title, $url, etc...

Any ideas?

Not sure what you are asking here, but here's a couple of ways to pass the variables...

If they just submitted a form and are on the page before your mail script...

You could use hidden fields:
<input type="to" name="<? echo $to; ?>">

You could pass the variable via the url:
(not advised but the links could be like this)
<a href="http://yourdomain.com?to=<? echo $to; ?>&from=<? echo $from; ?>

or maybe the best way is to use sessions:

$message .= "Description: $desc \n";
$message .= "Category: $category \n";

/ additional headers /
$headers .= "From: Bob Smith <[e-mail]>\r\n";

/ and now mail it /
mail($to, $subject, $message, $headers);
