Form POST messing with server variables

Just discovered something freaky on one of my pages .. if I post a form to a php page, that page can't access the server variables like REMOTE_USER..

I'm guessing this may be something to do with php.ini and the whole globals issue .. anyone know what's going on?

I think that you need register globals set to on, and maybe track vars set to on, you can get REMOTE_USER by using get_env('REMOTE_USER')
