posting to an already open window

how can I do a <form method='post' action='compose.php> except the fact that compose.php is already open and then thing doing the posting is a little popup window I basically want it to say ok whatever is checked in the popup window I want sent to the compose.php that is already open and I don't want to load a new one. Any ideas?
