I have been trying to tools and packages to produce bar graphs and charts using mysql/php. Several of the posts seem dated, and the level of abstraction is quite low. Any advice on the best practice for today?
I use jgraph for all my graphing (Gantt charts, pie charts, etc). It's a free download at:

Plus, there are many tutorials.
