Interfacing with MS Excel, Access

Hi,

I run PHP on a Linux server and need to get data from an Excel file and an Access file.

I have no illusions about the difficulty of this project, but I wonder if it is even possible to read Excel/Access/Outloook databases on a Unix/Linux server.

Can anyone point me on my journey with some links or resources?
