Header() Problem

Greetings...

With the site I am working on, I have a general header file that is included in the index.html file -- every file in the site is parsed through the index file via includes. I'm attempting to use the header function to redirect to a page and I get this error:

Warning: Cannot add header information - headers already sent by (output started at /var/www/html/header.php:83) in /var/www/html/content/admin/login.html on line 7

I'm still a bit new to PHP -- anyone able to help out here?

Hmm.. after more research, it seems like the Line 7 is HTML code in the header file that I'm including -- I see that can't be done...

Is there anyway to do a simple redirect to a page with PHP, other than the header() function?

a very common problem. you cannot send any output to the browser before you use the header() function (including whitespace). If you must use the header() function, and the logic of your script conditionally sends output before using header() then you should check out PHP's output buffering fucntions:
