HTML/PHP email form

I have a HTML form in a php document that sends an email. In the email I keep getting the character ! showing up in different locations of the email. I have searched the code and only have the ! in an if statement and no where else.

Does anyone know what is causing this??

maybe it has something to do with your form encoding? How does your form-code look like?
I have previously used something like this myself:
<form ACTION="mailto:[e-mail]" NAME="Feedback" ENCTYPE="text/plain" METHOD="POST">
