$PHP_SELF missing?

Hello,

Why is it that when I try this code

<?php
echo($PHP_SELF);
?>

the echo statemente echoes nothing? I use the PHP_SELF variable in many places in my code, but now, after switching to PHP 4.2.2 and Apache 2.0.36, the variable seems to be undefined.

Any Help?

I know this works, but is it that the good old $PHP_SELF variable is really missing in this new version?
