Email Form

Hope someone can point me in the right direction. I have a mysql database/table I use for vehicle inventory. Each record is a vehicle that is for sale, including fields such as make, model, miles, color, year and email. The email field holds the email address of the person selling the vehicle.

What I want to be able to do is display a link (click here to relpy to car owner) and a form pops up. The details are filled out and the form queries the database finds the email address and sends an email to the car owner. This ensures no one sees the persons email address who is selling the car.

Any ideas or pointers would be greatly appreciated!

Your link should look kinda like this:
<a href=# onClick=window.open('email.php?id=11','feedback', 'width=500, height=500')>Click here to send a message</a>

11 represents Seller's id (or id of the record) that comes from the database. I assume. Then, after your popup opens it already has a variable called id with value 11.
So when you create your form you add one more line:
print("
<input type=hidden name=id value=".id.">");
This is to make sure that once you submit your form, you don't lose the id.
And then in your script that processes the form, you query the database to pull the email address associated with record 11.

I would make the link "click here to relpy to car owner" pass the primary key of the db record to the email script:

<a href="email.php?id=66">click here to relpy to car owner<a/>

Then in "email.php", query the db with the "id" variable (66) that you just passed to extract the info about the car including the email address of the seller. Collect the body of the email message using a form and then send the mail using the mail() function.
