XML Errors

Hey, i have written a script to parse data from the odp xml file, this works fine till it gets to line 4604217, where i get this error

"XML error: not well-formed (invalid token) at line 4604217"

Does anyone know how i can go about solving this?, as opening the xml file in an editor just isn't possible due to it being about 1gig in size.

That usually means elements weren't nested correctly or the end tag is missing, soemthing like this:

<a> <b> </a> </b>

Yeh, do you know how i could change that?, or maybe how i could write a script to search for unclosed tags?
