does anyone know how to render a webpage on the fly and create a gif? are there any tools available for we could include into PHP [or maybe standalone]. i saw that konquer browser for linux is using khtml engine that can be used for such things but i havent found an example yet.
has anyone tried this before?

Images can be created by PHP using the GD library included with it.
What do you mean by "render" exactly, can you give me an example?
you didnt understand. i want a tool that can accept URL, go there, make a screenshot of the website and save as GIF. just like you would go there with IE, make screenshot, make small one in photoshop, save as gif...
