outputting .xml files from a mysql database

hello,

im having trouble at the moment outputting an xml file from a mysql database query in php. i have been able to display the xml file onscreen but it is still a .php file. is there any way for php to output a .xml file??

i have also tried to save the file automatically but the original php file used to generate the xml file saves and not the xml onscreen that i would like to save if you know what i mean??

i know im not being to clear but any help on theis matter would be much appreciated

given that xml is just plain text why don't you try using the file commands to write to a text file.
