I need to upload a file, just having the URL to the local file on the computer. I do not want to use a form object where I need to click on a button to post the file. 😕

Upload a file from the client to the server without needing the user to explicltly give the go-ahead? Can't be done. If it could, I could suck any file I wanted off your computer and not have to ask your permission first.

If that's not what you mean, then please clarify.

if you're not using a form then the only thing i can think of is FTP
