Calender script

I've been working on a live journaling script and I wanted to do something along the lines of a calender page that would print out a calender containing the number of journal entries made on each day. I have tried a number of approaches which have all failed. I am still boggled as to how I should go about doing such a page.

www.hotscripts.com has good samples of calendar, you can modify some of them and merge it with a database of the journal. the link between the calendar script and your database will be the issue date of your journal issues.
