Image function disappeared

Anyone know what happened to the imagepng function. Scripts that worked fine before my upgrade to php-4.1.2 cant find the function anymore?? All the other image functions still work so what went wrong??😕 😕 😕

Did you compile PHP with the image functions? Check the configuration details at the top of phpinfo() - is "--with-gd" there? If not, that's why you can't find them.

But surely if the rest of the image functions are there, then it has been compiled properly...

I am using

imagecreate
imagecolorallocate
imagecolortransparent
imagearc
imagefill
imagedestroy

but the output functions wont play ball. I have tried imagepng, imagewbmp, and imagejpeg none of these will output anything even though the script dident change just the upgrade to php.

Anyone know anything about needing a libgd update.

Oh, so this is not a "Call to undefined function" error (which is what PHP says when it can't find a function)?

If none of the output functions are working, how do you know any of the others are?

I wonder what happens if you specify the wrong path to the gd libraries when configuring...

No it is a 'Call to undefined function'. I know the others are working because they dont return any errors. they just work.
I checked all my paths and they report as fine and a phpinfo returns that php is configured with gd. its just the output functions that won't play ball.

Its all far to perplexing. 😕
