---I posted this in the newbie section first, but I'm posting here because possibly more people look at this discussion---

I'm just learning PHP (not done with the book yet)

But, I need to know the code to have an updated stock price show up on the page every time it loads, because I need it for an intranet site im making and all of the tutorials ive looked at make it so you have to enter the symbol to get the quote.

Coulld someone help me out with some code so I can get this site going? I only want the stock price to show, nothing else. (if that's possible, but with PHP anything's possible🙂)

if you look at the code that you already have, examples or what ever, you wrote that the code requires you to input a symbol(requires textbox, form, submit button...right?) but since you already know which symbol to look up you can skip all that code and just run the parts that hit the quote server and get the quote.

write what code you have into a function

function GetQuote(){
$symbol = "LCRY";

'open connection to quote server
'pass the $symbol to the server
'get the response
'write the response back to the page

}
