Simple question-register globals off

I just recently turned register globals off on a new site Im building.

Question: Can I still pass variables via<a href=page.php?id=1>?
If so, how do I access them.

Currently I've been useing posts to send vars to new pages.
The draw back to this is that the back button in the browser requires a refresh of the posted data.
This is cumbersome..

if you don't want to rePOST everything, try using sessions. (i.e. $_SESSION)

You're saying I can access URL based id's through $_POST[]?
That seems to defeat the security purpose of turning registered globals off, doesn't it?

Remember you can access specific variable types with more than just $_POST. here is more options.

$GET
$COOKIES
$SESSION
$REQUEST
