Input(type=text) - Problem Displaying Value

I have,
$g = "MORE THAN 1 CITIZEN'S CONCERN";

I display it for editing in a text box like this:

It is showing only the first word "MORE" in the text box.
If I echo $g; -- It shows correct value. Am I missing something in the above statement? 😕

I feel this is a minor problem - but I am new in PHP.

Presumabley you want to disply "MORE THAN 1 CITIZEN'S CONCERN" in a text box?

Then why do you need $g_n1h? Why not just have $g?

but still it is not showing the full string (it shows only the first word).

Here let me tell the problem in more better way(sorry to confue you):

My variable $g contains a text "MORE THAN 1 CITIZEN'S CONCERN", which I want to put in a text box for editing it. My code for the text box is this:

But instead of whoeing the whole sentence in the text box -- It is showing just the first word "MORE" and not the whole text. Am I writing the above code in a wrong way?

change to MORE THAN 1 CITIZEN\'S CONCERN
then
<? echo stripslashes($g); ?>

the ' in the text is probably causing the problem.

The solution is fairly simple. Whenever you are using text strings (ie. multiple words in a string typically separated by spaces), always surround the variable (or variable expression) with single quotes (').
Here's your input expression example:

Notice the single quotes after "value=" and at the end of the php expression "?>"....

You need DOUBLE QUOTES ie " to cater for ALL browsers, as some ignore a single quoted value.

Putting single quotes worked wonderfully with a string with the word like: CITIZEN -- but it still trims the string if I put CITIZEN'S -- due to the apostrophe.😕

Putting it as CITIZEN\'S is one solution -- but the problem is this string comes from the database -- which is previously entered in a field called "subject" by the user. This is for a 'modify' module -- where user can modify the text that he/she previously entered.

I don't want to prompt the user (while inputting for first time) that "Put a \ before a ' in the text".
