Be Smarter than Me: Register globals off

If I turn register globals off, what is the best way to get vas from page to page.

Curently I post them to a new page and set them as a $_SESSION var.

The problem is, when you click the back button the data has to be refreshed from the previous post.

This is a pain.

Is there a better way?

Most browsers will pull the page out of the cache if you hit the back button. Setting enough Caching headers at the top of the page tends to help.

This is the one on php.net - I use it and it seems to work pretty well.
