I have hese two fields in my database table:

priority (contains integers 1 to 5)

and

created (datetime)

I need to show the latest priority for each priority (1-5)

eg.

the latest row with priority 1,
the latest row with priority 2,
the latest row with priority 3,
and so on ....

can anyone help me?

I'm sure there's a way to do this in one query, but the simplest way would be something like this:

SELECT * FROM [i]tablename[/i] WHERE priority = 'priority' ORDER BY created LIMIT 1;

Don't you mean show the latest created for each priority?

select max(created),priority
   from t
 group by priority

And this for skippin priorities with value = 0 😉
GROUP by ar.priority HAVING MAX(priority) > 0
