Needle & Haystack Function

Just wanted to know what this does heres the code

is that one of the functions from the PHP manual if so I believe they are there for templates not working models.

The code snippet seems to be demonstrating the in_array function. It will tell you if the value you are searching for is contained in an array. the needle, haystack variables are to show where the values go. The array searches for a needle in a haystack.
