Apache and PHP 4.2.1

Howdy all,

Having some issues with getting php to work with apache 1.3.26

seems to have installed ok, and I can view php pages, however the problem is this, when I go to a link that does not specify a filename, ie www.espace.hopto.org/~tboon/xoops/ I get a forbidden error, whereas if I put the filename in, eg, www.espace.hopto.org/~tboon/xoops/index.php , it comes up fine.

I don't know if its got something to do with the mime.types file or not, however I have the following line in it.

application/x-httpd-php php php3 php4 html htm

although it works fine with an index.html file...

I should mention i'm running slackware 8.0 :p

any ideas?

Don't mind me... figured it out, thought i'd post the answer just in case anyone else had this...

edit httpd.conf and adjust the following lines

<IfModule mod_dir.c>
DirectoryIndex index.html index.php index.php3 index.htm index.php4
</IfModule>
