PHP @ MS Access on Linux

Hi all,

I hope this is a simple one for those who are knowledgable. My question is that can I use php with MS Access on a linux machine. If so, am I required to have a DSN? Can I connect to the Access DB with a DSN-less connection?

to run access. it uses the win32 framework which does not exist in linux. there might be a download somewhere to allow windows based programs to run on a linux machine (samba maybe?)

you can use either dsn or dsnless connection to make it go...

might want to consider using mysql or postgresql instead of access...

I know Access is of the Win32 framework (Yuck!!) I was hopiong that there would be some quick and dirty way of using an Access db on a linux box, without having to communicate with a win32 box.

Since Access only runs on windows, i think you're gonna have to have a win32 machine in the equation somewhere...

bastien: I think Samba is only used for connecting to shared drives on windows.
