Simple question

I have this line of HTML code:

<form name=Form action=Form.php method=post>

On the php script, what would the form name be as a var?

I don't think it would be one of the POST variables, since a FORM is not in INPUT.

By the way, I would put the attributes in quotes and pick names that are not reserved words just to help avoid problems:

<form name="myForm" action="Form.php" method="post">

The variable names come from the names of the inputs that are in the form. For example, if you have a text input:

<input type="text" name="textbox">

then the variable would be $textbox.

Try this:

print array_keys(_$POST);
?>

To get a list of all the variable names submitted by a form.

In PHP<v4.1 try this:

print array_keys($HTTP_POST_VARS);

when you suply a form name, its not a variable, the only reason, you would suply a form name is,

1. you have more then one form on the page
2. you want to use javascript to check some values of the form before sending it.

if you tryed echoing out the form name you would probally get a undefined error or something

then only time a formname is used like a variable is when it's used by JavaScript in the form document.form.element() kind of thing. If PHP parsed the forms in an OO way, you might have variables that looked like:

$form.element[1] etc... but you would never have just a $form var
